Frequently Asked Questions

What services do you offer?

Our core service happens each Friday night, which consists of Kabbalat Shabbat followed by a donation-based communal Shabbat meal. We also meet for all chagim (holidays), and have Shabbat morning and Sunday morning services once a month. We also offer many opportunities for both adult and youth education. For life-cycle events, please contact Rabbi Cody.

Where does the TJC sit on the denominational spectrum?

Given our diverse membership, we remain denominationally unaffiliated. Our services resemble what one would experience at a Conservative/Masorti service in America with a Hasidic flair.

What are your membership fees and policies?

We are entirely donation based. Membership is open to all Jewish residents and visitors to Taiwan, as well as their families and significant others—regardless of their Jewish identity.

What is your Kashrut policy?

We are ingredient Kosher, and only allow milchig (dairy), vegetarian, and kosher fish on our premises.
